Throughout history, the greatest sages, including Aristotle and Buddha, have taught humanity that material life must be harnessed to meet human needs, most importantly to promote “the end of suffering, social justice, and the attainment of happiness.”
We are often so busy focusing on what we lack in our lives, that we forget to be happy about all the things we have – like good health and loving friends and family. Today is a great day to change that mindset.
20 March 2015 – Happiness for the entire human family is one of the main goals of the United Nations, Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon declared, as the Organization kicked-off its global celebrations marking the annual observance of the International Day of Happiness.
The United Nations International Day of Happiness was launched on June 28, 2012, when the UN called on all 193 member states to give happiness, a “fundamental human goal” a greater priority.
March 20 is the International Day of Happiness, a day centered around connecting with others and pulling yourself away from isolation. To participate in the joyous day, people are being asked to participate either in person or online.
This Friday, the world is celebrating the United Nation’s International Day of Happiness, an annual spot in the calendar that reminds us “the pursuit of happiness is a fundamental human goal.”
